Fit Guide

How to fit reusable cloth nappies

Fitting modern nappies correctly is essential to prevent leaks and keep your baby comfortable. Here is a step-by-step guide:

1.   Position the nappy: Lay the cloth nappy under your baby's bottom, ensuring the back elastic sits just above the bum crack (about 1-2 cm).

2.   Secure the front: Bring the front of the nappy up over your baby's tummy and secure it with the waist poppers. Make sure the nappy is snug but not overly tight. You should be able to fit 2-3 fingers comfortably into the waistband.

3.   Tuck away excess fabric: Smooth any excess fabric around the waist and tuck it away for a clean and comfortable fit.

4.   Leg elastics: If using the All-in-Ones or Wraps, ensure the leg elastics sit on the thighs as a disposable nappy would fit. If using the Pocket or Newbie Newborn, tuck the elastics into your baby's leg creases to prevent leaks. If one way does not work for you then try the other.

5.   Check for gaps: Gently run your fingers along the reusable nappy's edges to check for any gaps. If you notice any, adjust the nappy accordingly, but don't make it too tight, as this will cause leaks.

Remember, practice makes perfect! With a bit of practice, you'll be able to fit cloth nappies like a pro, keeping your baby comfortable and leak-free.
